Used Smith & Wesson 442 Ultimate Carry .38 Special +P – Night Sight, No-Lock J-Frame

The Smith & Wesson Model 442 Ultimate Carry is a lightweight, enclosed-hammer J-frame revolver chambered in .38 Special +P. Designed in collaboration with Lipsey’s, the Ultimate Carry series updates the traditional Airweight snub-nose with practical enhancements while retaining the compact dimensions and snag-resistant profile that make the 442 popular for concealed carry.

This revolver features a 1.88-inch barrel, five-round cylinder and double-action-only operation. Its enclosed hammer prevents snagging during presentation, while the upgraded front night sight and fixed rear sight provide a more useful sight picture than the shallow sights traditionally found on Airweight revolvers. The aluminum frame keeps the revolver lightweight, and this model is built without the internal key lock. Lipsey’s specifies the Ultimate Carry .38 models at approximately 16 ounces and notes that they are regulated at 15 yards with both standard-pressure and defensive +P ammunition. 

This example is fitted with a black finger-groove rubber grip that provides additional cushioning and control. It appears to remain in excellent overall condition with minimal visible handling wear.
